A self taught artist hailing from Zimbabwe and now living in South Africa, Makiwa is displaying a rare talent and commitment to furthering his carreer as a professional artist. The intensity of his work has grown, and it is an exciting experience every time he brings new work to show.

His recent series on township life has produced some extremely compelling images, particularly as he displays the characters he watches as they go about their lives.

He works in oils on a variety of media, including canvas and paper. He manipulates his paints and colours to produce living colour and images.
