CHEG
graduated as an architect, and was in private practice
for many years, using his nom de plume to prevent any
conflict of interests.
Over the years he has remained true to his training
by introducing multiple textures and layers in his art,
and uses many additional materials such as cements,
natural pigments, various types of fabrics and paints
to create the desired effect.
Lately his work has drawn on the multiple layers and
facets of family life and the interplay between the
individuals to create a dynamic whole. His interest
in the culture of African masks has resulted in the
stylised masks and templates that are widely incorporated
in his compositions, and links to his African roots.
